My Mother, Mary : A Caribbean Story of Liberty. Revolution. and Migration
Click to DonateHello Beautiful Film Lovers and welcome to the Caribbean story of My Mother, Mary!!!
MMM Films needs your help to raise $50K to complete our documentary feature film My Mother, Mary.
My Mother, Mary is a documentary film that captures a story of liberty, revolution, and migration through the eyes of the Grenadians near and far. In efforts to highlight and make known the story of Grenada's occupation and freedom, Kayko Donalds mother, Mary, tells a riveting story of Grenada’s past while birthing a new alliance and conversation amongst Grenadians near and far, through her feature-length documentary film, My Mother, Mary.
Through its plot, My Mother, Mary presents audiences with an authentic intergenerational conversation that details a forgotten history surrounding the discourse of Black liberation. Although the documentary film is based upon the island of Grenada's particular history i.e. the island pre and post 1983 U.S. occupation, the story Donald seeks to tell is one that will be familiar to Caribbeans near and far.
